The Coal’d War

The Coal’d War is a riveting thriller about two men, one on either side of the Iron Curtain during the Cold War, brought together by chance and separated by world politics, whose lives are changed and endangered by circumstances that they could never have imagined.

The Author, James Alan Thompson is from Newbiggin by the Sea in Northumberland. He is well known as a former County Councillor and is now Deputy Mayor of the Town.

Alan has invented a number of ground breaking products for the prevention of coastal erosion (TBlocks) and inland emergency flood defence systems (Floodless) both of which are featured on the Internet.

Now Alan has decided to relate his experiences in local politics and his eclectic knowledge of all sorts of items of local history in this web site,  Wansbeck Matters.
